Slowly here below. Four monologues

DE 2020, 122 min, Siegfried Ressel, Hannes Richter

This film starts with the current everyday lives of four survivors of Nazi concentration and extermination camps. Their monologues – about survival, about coming home, about their creations and their jobs, about their families – are the framework for the documentary. Filmed in their homes and cities, they resolutely find the words to tell their stories: Raymond Renaud while tilling his wonderful garden in rural France, Ivan Ivanji while writing novels in a Belgrade tower block, Zahava Stessel while riding the New York subway, Aleksandr Bytschok while eating with his family in Kiev. Despite their advanced age, all four continue to bear witness, visit schools, write books, give public interviews.
